STRASBOURG (Thomson Financial) - The European Parliament said it has voted in favour of a draft law saying that air fare advertising must make clear all applicable taxes, fees and surcharges that are known at the time of publication, regardless of the form of publishing.
Particular attention should be paid to internet advertising, as websites are often the only way of booking with low-cost airlines, the parliament said.
'Air passengers must be treated like other consumers and thus have a right to clear and full information on the price they finally have to pay,' the parliament said.
