Slovak Constitutional Court delegation leaves for Strasbourg

A delegation from the Slovak Constitutional Court, led by Court chairperson Ivetta Macejková, went for a official two-day visit to the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg on July 2, Constitutional Court spokesman Štefan Németh told the TASR newswire.
The visit is taking place at the invitation of European Court chairman Jean-Paul Costa and aims to acquaint Slovakia's new Constitutional Court judges with European Court activities and processes.
The resolution of gaps in the Slovak constitution through European Court rulings, court delays and financial compensations awarded by the European Court will all be discussed. The delegation will also seek to strengthen cooperation between the two courts.
During their visit, the Slovak delegation will attend a hearing at the European Court, and will visit the official seat of the European Parliament.
